It is believed that most of these individuals were wrongfully convicted of sexual assault and/or murder, even though they were innocent. However, approximately 25% confessed to the crimes and 11% pleaded guilty to them. Ten percent of these exonerees spent more than 25 years in prison for crimes they didn't commit, on average.

Antipsychotic Meds gave me Life without Parole, Episode 4
There was a 29% reduction in the probability of being convicted of a drug-related charge among the 82,647 subjects in the study--all of whom were prescribed an antipsychotic or mood stabilizing drug between 2006 and 2009--when they were routinely prescribed an antipsychotic drug. There was also a 22% reduction in convictions for all crimes, and a 26% reduction in arrests for crimes committed.
