My guest in this episode Alexandra Bailey from the Sentencing Project . The Sentencing Project advocates for effective and humane responses to crime that minimize imprisonment and criminalization of youth and adults by promoting racial, ethnic, economic, and gender justice. Alexandra Bailey supports state and local advocates working to challenge the nation’s life sentencing laws. Her priorities include supporting efforts to end life without parole, capping maximum penalties at 20 years, promoting “second look” provisions, and fostering a culture shift that rejects excessive punishments in favor of restorative approaches to public safety.
The Black Light Mass Incarceration Show is a space that is used to uplift the unheard voices of the criminal and social justices issues that many faces today.
BLMIS is a weekly podcast that interviews those forgotten in our prison systems. We are here to give the forgotten or ignored a platform for them to share their stories. Inform and educated others on what is really happening behind the scenes.
